HF Partnership
In partnership with the Honnold Foundation, FAEC Cambodia is implementing the Climate-Resilient Solar Energy Project within the Prey Thom Popel Community-Protected Area (PTP-CPA) in Siem Reap. The project's primary goal is to deploy micro-scale, zero-emission solar energy systems that support both agricultural livelihoods and environmental conservation.
The project will install Solar-Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) for smallholder farmers, replacing 100% of their diesel fuel usage and reducing operational costs, air and noise pollution, and the risk of fuel spill contamination near natural water sources. It will also establish Off-Grid Solar Patrol Hubs providing reliable overnight power, lighting, and charging for forest rangers' phones and GPS devices during night patrols.
The partnership directly benefits cooperative members and frontline conservation teams, offering a replicable model for clean energy adoption that supports economic development alongside environmental protection.
