Thanks to the sustained commitment of our donor community, the Honnold Foundation team is excited to announce our largest grantmaking commitment in our history: more than $11 million across 70+ partnerships spanning six continents, with funds moving to partners beginning this fall.
This year, the Honnold Foundation received 1,243 applications for Core Fund support, more than at any point in the fund’s six year history.
This volume is telling. As federal climate funding has been frozen or reduced, and as some funders have pulled back instead of stepping up, the demand for community-centered funding has only grown. The organizations on the frontlines of the energy transition are doing more ambitious work, in more places, with more urgency than ever before.
We are choosing to meet this moment.
