A women-led organization, Community Empowerment and Development Team (CEDT) strengthens the capacity and wellbeing of urban and rural marginalized communities, helping them articulate their priorities and take action to improve their housing conditions, livelihoods, and long-term security of tenure.
CEDT believes in investing in people, communities, and long-term processes, even when progress takes time, favoring sustainability over quick fixes. Its approach centers on people-led participatory planning and a continuous internal process of reflection and learning.

In partnership with HF, the Community Empowerment Development Team partnership extends beyond the installation of solar systems, reflecting a broader commitment to communities that have worked for years to improve their living conditions and build a more secure future.
While durable housing and settlement solutions require time, clean energy can generate meaningful impact in the near term. Reliable lighting, cooling, safer public spaces, and improved access to water alleviate daily hardships and empower families with greater comfort, safety, and dignity.
By strengthening community participation, ownership, and collaboration, the partnership supports the development of safer, more resilient, and empowered communities, while establishing a foundation for long-term, community-led action through management planning, technical training, and sustained engagement with local stakeholders.
